Database Observability

Purpose

The Database Observability module monitors PostgreSQL and brings database clusters and instances into Search Anywhere Framework operations. It links database telemetry with Inventory assets, the Service Monitor Toolkit health model, and Incident Manager cards.

Database Support

In Search Anywhere Framework 6.2, the module supports PostgreSQL. The collection architecture, data models, and analytics content are designed to support other database systems. Support for additional database sources is planned for future versions.

The module performs the following tasks:

  • monitors instance availability, connection saturation, and collection completeness
  • analyzes query cost, errors, locks, and long-running transactions
  • monitors physical replication, slots, Patroni, and PgBouncer
  • shows database, table, and index growth, XID consumption, and autovacuum activity
  • collects PostgreSQL logs and pgaudit events
  • creates incidents with runbooks, asset links, and SLA policies
