AI Observability: Claude Code - Overview
The AI Observability: Claude Code - Overview dashboard brings together metrics for Claude Code costs and API requests, skill usage, conversations, and application events.
It helps assess spending on Claude Code and trends in latency and errors, and identify the members, projects, and skills with the highest spending.
Useful for: development team leads, operations engineers, and Claude subscription administrators.
Data sources: gen_ai_metrics*, gen_ai_events*, and the claude_code_identity lookup.
Main Sections
1. Costs and API Requests
Shows the costs and performance of Claude Code model requests:
- total and average cost per request, number of API requests, and API errors
- costs by model over time
- time to first token and total request time
- API requests and errors over time
- the seven members and seven projects with the highest costs during the period
A project is identified by the session's working directory in the file-based data source.

- numbers of activations, distinct skills, and sessions with skills
- share of sessions in which at least one skill was activated
- activation triggers and skill activation trends
- a skill table with sources, activations, members, sessions, and the time of the last activation

3. Claude Code Activity
Shows Claude Code activity from the file-based data source: sessions in .claude/projects and Claude Desktop application logs:
- numbers of active projects, conversations, application events, and application errors
- trends in completed requests, application events, and errors
- distribution of requests by entry point
Records from the file-based data source are associated with a member's email address through the claude_code_identity lookup.
