Edit Permission Groups
Overview
The Edit Permission Groups section is used to manage permission groups and user groups. These groups apply only within Knowledge Center (KWC) and do not change permissions configured through the role model.

Permission Groups
Permission groups let you configure access levels using predefined permissions.

Five permissions are available:
- permission
READ— read access - permission
WRITE— edit access - permission
MOVE— move articles within the catalog - permission
CHANGE_PERMISSION— change access permissions - permission
DELETE— delete previously created pages

Combine WRITE, MOVE, CHANGE_PERMISSION, and DELETE with READ.
Select a combination of permissions that provides the required access level for the group.
User Groups
User groups combine roles or individual users so that permissions can later be assigned to specific Wikilogs pages.

The groups are used only in KWC and stored in the .sm_kwc_user_group index.
Configure Permissions
To configure permissions for a page, click Settings and select Permissions.

When a page is created, the CREATOR_GROUP group and the user who created the page are added by default.
The following settings are available:
- setting
Permission Groupdefines the page access permissions - setting
User Groupspecifies the user group to which the permissions apply - setting
Userslets you grant permissions to users who are not in a group
When you configure permissions for a page, its child pages in the article tree inherit those permissions.
If a user has access to a page but not to a parent page, they can open the target page only through a direct link. It does not appear in the article tree.
Index
Each created page is a document in the .sm_kwc_page index. Page permissions are stored in the permission_assignments block:
